About Sidd Mahajan
Sidd Mahajan’s journey into the world of hotels and hospitality began with his schooling, which acted as a pivotal gateway. Following his high school graduation, Sidd Mahajan, a self-made individual, embarked on a path that led him to Kerala, where he nurtured his aspiration of becoming a hotelier. Enrolling at the Oriental School of Hotel Management, he completed a comprehensive three-year Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management in 2002. This program notably encompassed the esteemed International Hotel Hospitality Diploma conferred by the American Hotel Lodging Association.
Fresh out of college, his initial employment was at the esteemed Oberoi hotel chain’s Rajvilas establishment in Jaipur, a distinguished five-star Indian hotel. Starting as a supervisor and assistant within the front office, he contributed to the hotel’s operations until 2005.
Having departed from the Oberoi, Sidd Mahajan set his sights on international horizons, seeking novel opportunities. His international experience includes a role as the Guest Relations Manager at the Amba Hotel in Marble Arch. His service at Amba garnered high praise from visitors. Subsequently, he assumed the role of operations manager at Canary Wharf.
However, the entrepreneurial spirit had already captured Sidd Mahajan’s imagination, prompting him to make a daring move – establishing and managing his own business to fulfill his long-term aspirations. During his career, Sidd Mahajan observed frequent travelers, ranging from business executives to college students, in search of accommodation that blended the comfort of a hotel room with the warmth of a home. Recognizing the importance of creating a comfortable environment for weary travelers, he introduced a pioneering concept in the housing sector known as House in Multiple Occupancy (HMOs). This ingenious idea involves renting out fully-furnished houses to multiple occupants simultaneously.
Sidd Mahajan strongly believes that education empowers individuals with the confidence to explore diverse opportunities, even though business history showcases instances where success is not solely guaranteed by education. He acknowledges that the skills acquired during his college education were instrumental in identifying gaps within the industry and formulating innovative solutions. Nonetheless, Sidd Mahajan exemplifies that a successful business journey and the creation of a robust brand are equally reliant on personal audacity and unwavering commitment.
